Within the EU-funded project “Enhancing higher education e-learning structures and modules in conflict regions of East Africa (Kenya, Sudan, and South Sudan),” a delegation from the CuofSS, composed of the Vice Chancellor, Br. Bruno Dada, Mr. Kejgon James, ICT System Administrator, and Sr. Paola Moggi, Director of the Institute of Communication and Media, attended an additional face-to-face training session on online courses, LMS (Learning Management Systems), Multi-format Teaching and Quality Assurance.
The workshop was organized and facilitated by University of Nicosia, Cyprus, from January 19 to 23, 2026.
That university ranks among the top universities worldwide in Business and Economics, and in Education Studies. Their highly qualified staff offered outstanding insights into developing courses with critical and creative focus to offer inclusive learning opportunities also to students with special needs.
Special attention was devoted to the structure of academic courses for learning and e-learning so as to provide a highly interactive and motivating learning experience.
Prof. Kyriakos E. Georgiou coordinated the workshop with great dedication and also led the participants to visit the various facilities of the University of Nicosia, which is a private university.
The Rector, Prof. Philippos Pouyioutas, also gave time to interact with the participants outside the tightly scheduled working hours.
The CUofSS will soon develop training sessions for its staff to share the insights and the competence offered by the project “Enhancing higher education e-learning structures and modules in conflict regions of East Africa”.
