The Catholic University of South Sudan is participating in a European Union-funded project titled “Enhancing higher education e-learning structures and modules in conflict regions of East Africa (Kenya, Sudan, and South Sudan) .” Through progressive digital transformation, the project supports universities in conflict-affected areas to maintain continuity in their academic activities.
An initial training session launched on May 20, 2025, at Tangaza University College (TUC) in Nairobi, Kenya. A second session, also held at TUC from May 22 to 28, 2025, focused on developing e-learning modules.
Subsequently, a face-to-face technical training for the EAGLE project, entitled “Preparation of E-Materials,” was successfully conducted at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in Spain from January 13 to 17, 2026. Participants from the Catholic University of South Sudan included Vice Chancellor Br. Bruno Dada, ICT System Administrator Mr. Kejgon James, and Director of the Institute of Communication and Media Sr. Paola Moggi.

Together with other participants from Sudan and Kenya, they explored the academic requirements for course objectives and content descriptors. The training introduced creative e-learning tools that comply with modern pedagogical standards for online and hybrid education, with particular attention given to e-learning assessment methodologies. The program, delivered by experienced UPV staff, combined theoretical lectures with hands-on sessions. These included a visit to Polimedia studios, where participants recorded educational material for online platforms.
This face-to-face training has reinforced partners’ skills in digital education, instructional design, and multimedia content production, contributing significantly to the development of high-quality online learning resources.
